37 And A Half Weeks

I had an appointment today with yet another new doctor. I wanted to meet with the doctor who is scheduled to be on call the week the baby is due. I really like her, I think I may keep her as my female doctor in the future. I went in and was sure to let them know I'm sick, and have been for a 6 days. So she made sure I wasn't suffering from anything too serious, and we are both hoping the baby doesn't arrive until after I recover from this. So it's just your run of the mill sickness. She did give me the okay to keep taking Sudafed, and she gave me a scrip for my indigestion.

My appt went well. My weight gain was like nil, my bp was 96/52. I asked to do a cervical check, and I'm effaced 50% and dilated 1 cm. Not that it means much. Though, I was effacing with Elijah at 38 weeks, and he arrived at week 39. Some women can be dilated for weeks before they deliver.

We visited the hospital last Thursday to do the tour. Elijah and Geoff saw the birthing room, before they left to go play. It's not exciting enough for Elijah. I wish the recovery room was as big as the birthing room, and had the cool glider chairs. But the recovery room has a room service menu. :) It's very likely I'll be in the hospital between 24-48 hours. Because they don't circumcise the baby until he is 24 hours old. But I will push to get home asap, even though Geoff thinks I should take advantage of the alone time in the hospital. Amy will stay with Elijah as long as we want, but Geoff and I don't want him to feel like he's not important to us. So Geoff will stay home with Elijah after the birth of the baby, and they'll come visit us. So, that's the plan.

My next appt isn't until February 8. Pending I don't go into labor before then, or something else come up, expect an update then. (Ashley, I will try to post a picture this week, once my face stops being all splotchy from my sickness)

What The Doctor Said

I saw a new doctor today, and of course I brought up the pain incident. His thoughts, my pelvic bone separating, not the baby dropping. But he said everything looks good, everything is normal. His heartrate, his growth, my weight gain. This has been a pretty normal pregnancy.

Next week is the hospital tour, and my next dr appt is in 2 weeks.

Feeling Okay

I'm doing okay, relax.

Here's what I think has happened. I think the baby has dropped (or lightened), and that he possibly bruised me when he did that. The pain is long gone, though there is still a pressure on my pelvis. I have a doctor appt on Thursday morning, so this will be discussed.

It's just getting closer every day huh?

Ow!

At some point yesterday morning, the baby shifted, and I've had a constant pain ever since. For almost 3 hours yesterday I couldn't walk. I still can't lift my left leg without triggering the pain.

I talked to a friend at church this morning, and she said something similiar had happened to her with one of her kids. And she went to the doctor, they did an ultrasound and said, yep everything is normal. So it's good to know it isn't something weird. I am making sure I keep tabs on his movements. So don't worry about us.

5 more weeks.

34 Weeks

One more appointment is done. Nothing exciting to report there. I did reschedule one of my appts, so I could see the doctor who is on call the week I am due.

I'm still having indigestion all the time, I'm getting very painful leg cramps at 4am every few days, and I'm exhausted. I wake up at 7am, and by 9:30-10am, I'm ready for sleep.

I'm in nesting mode. I rewashed all of Elijah's 0-3month old clothes in baby detergent. I want to have more things organized, but money and lack of energy are slowing me down.

As I mentioned on my blog, Cindy threw me a baby shower while I was in CA. The boys' godmother Cate made a quilt for #2. Cindy & her whole family chipped in and bought us the double stroller we registered for. It's a sit & stand. It has the baby up front, and then Elijah can either sit or stand in the back. We also got a Target gift card from Cate, a Snugli from Pat, a book and night light from Marci, and some money from my friend Donna. I'm so happy Dawn sent me baby gift thank you notes a few months ago. :)

I can hardly wait to see the baby's face. I'm nervous about the labor, despite having been through it before. We're set to do the hospital tour on the 25th. I think I want to make out a list of the stuff that will need to get packed for us and for Elijah on D-Day (delivery day).

My next appt is in 2 weeks.
